接触这个概念两年多以后终于读了Mark Weiser的《The Computer for the 21st Century》原文。想想20年前就能提出普适计算的概念是多么有眼光！
“My colleagues and I at PARC believe that what we call ubiquitous computing will gradually emerge as the dominant mode of computer access over the next 20 years…Most important, ubiquitous computers will help overcome the problem of information overload.”
确实二十年后的今天我们用上了以他文中Pad为原型的iPad，但是社会层面上的信息超载并没有能够因为iPad或者普适计算的应用而得以改善，因为事实上，正是这些“廉价”的信息在不停地扰乱着我们的正常生活，以至于人们无法回到或者想象20年前的生活。究竟是我们尚未实现Weiser的愿景还是世界正朝着我们不可预料的方向发展？
